Just when we thought we new about all the cool 29er’s Salsa went and made their El Mariachi even better. SLIDER DROPOUTS! WORD! And they even made them prettier. Here is a few teaser shots-

El Mariachi

Santa Cruz Nickel

New to the 2011 Lineup the Santa Cruz Nickel is a great agressive trail bike that loves to climb. With very similar geometry to the Blur LT (a shop favorite) it incorporates a new suspension design called APP. But, the fun doesn’t end there- this bike is fully equipped with Shimano’s new 10 speed Dyna-sys drivetrain. SAWEET! And with the price tag of most single pivot bikes you can get a great value from one of the best names in the business. (Bike photo’d $2200)

Santa Cruz Butcher

Are you down with APP? YEAH YOU KNOW ME! The Butcher has Santa Cruz’s the new APP suspension design! That’s right this 6inch travel All Mountain MTB climbs, descends, and does everything in between.

Some people don’t beleive that wearing a helmet is cool but like your mom always said: “Don’t forget your helmet!” We recently reccomended to a customer to that he really should wear a helmet when going on a group ride. Half way through the ride said individual had a decent crash and was incredibly lucky to be alright; the helmet saved noggin! This inspired us to show a little of the options we carry in the helmet department.

The new Giro Prolight is not only one of the lightest helmets ever made it is also one of the most comfortable helmets we have worn. Instead of having a plastic ratchet device in the back it has elastic fabric-GENIUS GENIUS GENIUS (if you have seen mr. deeds you would get that). This elastic strap keeps the helmet firmly in place without being too tight and giving headaches. The prolight also has pleanty of airway channels to keep your head cool and comfortable.

Lifecycle we pride ourselves on being up on the current trends and just a few days after recieving our first Di2 bike an article on Velo news came out on the new Felt Z2. Titled “best of both worlds” the article shows bikes that have pro level technology at a more down-to-earth price. They had nothing but good things to say about the Z2 as well as the Di2. I was going to do a write up on the new Felt but they did a great job, so here is what they have to say:

“We like the Felt Z2 because it’s one of the most afforbable 2010 bikes with Shimano’s Di2 shifting technology…for the Z2, product managers at Felt worked specifically with Shimano to break up the Dura-Ace Di2 package, so that Ultegra compact cranks and brake calipers mix with Di2 shifters and derailleurs, thereby keeping the price in check. Add the ultra-high modulus carbon Z2’s comfort oriented ride quality, with classics inspired geometry, a sloping top tube and taller head tube, and the end result is an all-day rig for the rest of us, with the lineage (and electronic shifting) of a pure race bike”

Here is my 2 cents:

Having owned a Felt F2 perviously I was very excited about trying out the different geometry as well as the coolest shifting devices known to man-kind. The bike handles very precisely and predicitablity with little delay associated with some “comfort” bikes. The new carbon ultegra wheels spin up to speed easily and the built in wheel magnet will keep the bike looking fresh when a computer is installed. If you are in the market for a prolevel bike at almost half the cost of their flagship model the Felt AR1, give this bike a look. Z2 cockpit

Check out some of these photo’s!

Santa Cruz’s new Blur Carbon has really amazed us with how well it rides, its weight, and how stiff a full suspension bike can actually be. We could fill your ears with all the technical data but we feel you can get a better idea of what this bike is all about when your on the trails with it.

So here is how the Demo Program works for this Blur LT Carbon (Currently we only have a size Large for the DEMO program):

Demo Includes

- Fork and Shock sag set-up for each rider

- Saddle height and position adjustments

-$75 24-hour rental ( Store hours are 10am-6pm Monday through Friday, Saturday 10am-5pm)

-$125 per weekend (Saturday and Sunday)

And the best part of all. If you end up purchasing a bike we put the money you spent on the demo towards the purchase price of your new bike!
